Romana presents at SLLS in Fribourg!

On September 8th-10th, Romana attended the Society of Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies conference in Switzerland.

The conference welcomed around 300 epidemiologists, social scientists, and longitudinal study custodians, among others, to convene research under the theme of “Life Course Transitions and Patterns: Stronger Evidence for Better Policies”.

Romana presented on our linkage of shopping data into the ALSPAC cohort, sharing preliminary findings from 10 years of loyalty card records, as well as highlighting the potential role of these data in tracking dietary change during the life course. The session was attended by ~40 researchers, and the talk sparked interest and questions regarding supermarkets willingness to share data.

Aside from this, Romana attended a range of sessions across a very packed schedule! On top of keynotes, an early-careers event, and a poster exhibition, Romana attended sessions on longitudinal cohort studies (including an interesting overview of worldwide LPS using the Atlas of Longitudinal Datasets), a panel on engaging policy in LPS research, and a session on adolescent trajectories.
