Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity – Digital Footprints Lab, University of Bristol
Are you a researcher in Geography, Psychology, Business Studies, Demography, or Social Statistics looking for your next career move? Interested in exploring health research using shopping and other digital footprint data?
We invite applications for the British Academy International Fellowship, a prestigious and competitive two-year funded position at the University of Bristol. This fellowship includes:
✔ Salary funding for two years
✔ Up to £12,000 in research expenses
✔ Relocation support of up to £8,000
This fellowship allows researchers to conduct independent research while benefiting from the expertise and support of the Digital Footprints Lab, helping the applicant to secure further fellowships and permanent UK-based positions.
Potential Research Areas
🔹 Impact of the cost-of-living crisis on food choices in deprived areas
🔹 Seasonal patterns in stress-related purchases (e.g., snacks, alcohol)
🔹 Menstrual health symptom trends in population-level data
🔹 Developing pipelines for linking digital footprints data with health datasets
Eligibility Criteria
✔ PhD holder (or final-stage PhD with viva completed before the fellowship starts)
✔ Based outside the UK, without UK citizenship, and with less than three months spent in the UK in the past year
✔ If PhD was awarded in the UK, must have worked outside the UK for at least one year
✔ Less than seven years of postdoctoral experience (excluding career breaks)
