Alisha presents at the Future Food Symposium at BrEPS Conference 2025

On 5th September, Alisha represented the Digital Footprints Lab at the Future Food Symposium: Perceptions and Actions Towards a Sustainable Diet, as part of British Environmental Psychology Society (BrEPS) 9th Annual Conference in Nottingham.

The symposium focused on how food preferences and behaviours are shifting in response to environmental concerns. Alisha shared the lab’s work on how digital footprints — such as supermarket loyalty card data — can shed light on actual food purchasing behaviour, helping us better understand the gap between what people say and what they do.

The symposium brought together researchers including Alexa Spence, Daniel Fletcher, Dale Shaffer-Morrison, and Yuchen Zhang to discuss meat consumption, openness to alternatives, and psychosocial factors shaping food choices.

Looking ahead, we are excited to build on these conversations — continuing to explore how digital footprint data can provide new insights into sustainable diets, and working with colleagues across disciplines to inform healthier, fairer, and more environmentally responsible food systems.
