Alice James

I joined the Digital Footprints Lab in November 2024 as a Senior Research Associate. My background is in health inequalities research. I completed my PhD in Healthcare Sciences in 2022 investigating disparities in cancer outcomes for people with physical disabilities. More recently, I completed a project looking at inequalities in access to kidney transplantation for children in the UK. My other research interests include patient experience research, having previously worked on the NHS patient experience surveys programme. My current work involves investigating participant understanding and acceptability of linking individual shopping data with longitudinal population studies data. This will involve conducting workshops, focus groups and 1-1 interviews with members of Patient and Participant Involvement and Engagement groups (PPIE). Through these methods we will develop a co-created PPIE toolkit which will include a video and/or animation explainers, informative infographics, terminology guidance and protocols for study acceptability and feasibility informed by PPIE insights.
