Romana attends Women in Data Flagship

On Thursday March 26th, Romana attended the Women in Data Flagship in London!

The event welcomed 3500+ women and allies, coming together to empower women working in data, science, and analytics.

Romana particularly enjoyed attending the sessions that addressed inclusivity in all forms. She attended a session by the Donaldson Trust on supporting neurodivergent individuals in the workplace, and heard a powerful talk from Scottish Widows about the gender pension pay gap and how women can better support their older, future self. She also visited the FeelHear stand to learn about deaf inclusivity.

Importantly, the organisers invited attendees to contribute to the “Wall of Pledges”, creating a live map of collective intent to drive change. Romana pledged to continue to advocate for women in her research, which will be done by continuing to explore the use of shopping data for understanding menstrual health management.

All in all – a successful day filled with inspiring talks from leading women across industries. It is heartening to see so many successful women continuing to drive positive change at a national and global level. We look forward to next years event!
