Alisha presents at the BPI Seedcorn Fund Showcase Event

Alisha presented our latest research at the Bristol Poverty Institute (BPI) Seedcorn Fund Showcase Event, highlighting the project: Ultra-Processed Foods and Health Inequalities: A Data-Driven Approach to Understanding Socioeconomic Disparities in Diet.

The project, led by Alisha with co-investigators Professor Jeff Brunstrom and Dr. Anya Skatova, uses supermarket loyalty card data to explore how ultra-processed foods purchases and health outcomes vary across socioeconomic groups. By linking real-world purchasing behaviour to health inequality research, we aim to uncover insights that can inform more targeted and equitable public health strategies.

The showcase featured presentations from BPI’s 2024–25 Seedcorn Fund awardees and encouraged discussion across disciplines. It was a fantastic opportunity to share our work and connect with others interested in digital data, health, and inequality.

We’ll be sharing more as the project moves forward—stay tuned!
